an urban {rustic fall} wedding

Just a few short days ago was the anniversary of two wonderful people. Their wedding was such a blast, and I'm so excited to share a few snapshots of their day.

One way I love to style a wedding is to offer brides-to-be a "decor plan" and inspiration that I art direct, but they find the labor to implement. This was one such wedding.

The vision of the bride was to have an urban fall theme, with a touch of rustic. Rustic that does not include a hint of country—no burlap or mason jars allowed. Fair enough.

Using strands of wheat, scattered throughout the flowers & reception, we brought in both the season and rural texture. To compliment the wheat, we also had a number of corn husk flowers in the reception decor.

One highlight of the event was the entrance of the bride, who appeared with an acoustic performance of the song by The Lumineers. It was such a surprise and so touching!

Breakfast was a major part in the courtship of the couple, so for reception fare they had a wide range of breakfast for dinner. Including a pancake station where the guests had to catch their pancakes mid air.

In place of mason jars, we used painted tin cans in various shades of copper and gray. And for favors, an eclectic collection of coffee mugs. So fun!

And that gives you a glimpse into this lovely autumn event!

Happy Anniversary, Friends! It was truly wonderful to play a part in your special day.
