Hello new day! A long weekend is a GREAT pause in the daily grind, is it not? I nearly forgot the holiday while scrambling to prepare hosting a birthday party.
While it feels a little slow to get back into work, the break sure leaves one refreshed. A fabulously short week is now before us, friends. Let's make it a great one.
My goodness, where have I been? While I can't stand the "I'm so busy" excuse, adding the large volunteer projects (3 weeks in a row!) on top of my regular work load has sadly left my blog to suffer. Please excuse my crash & burn this week.
Now time to put my household back in order and catch up on overdue work. In tandem, I challenge us all to slow down over the next few days.
Today I will be OUT enjoying the sunshine! Another volunteer photographer gig, these seem to be a regular for me :p
I hope you are able to relish in some sunshine this weekend!

I've had this inspirational print tucked away for a while, and today seems fitting. Last weekend I photographed senior portraits, and not only that they are seniors about to foster out of the system. I RARELY take portraits and it's such a different experience. It was more than a pleasure to glimpse into these young lives for a few hours, and I think this quote by an original photojournalist gangster captures it perfectly (as she always did).
Any of my readers portrait photographers? What do you love most?
Definitely a trend of late. Can't say I don't enjoy a large splash of color.
Enjoy your weekend, friends!

Sleeping just a little longer, planning a new project, snuggling, cooking a delicious meal, spending time not doing much....I am so grateful for this season—to bask in the small joys of a slow, simple life.

Wrapping up the week with some earth day inspiration. Tentatively I'm planning to ride my new bicycle to the park for St. Louis Earth Day to get out and enjoy some great weather. Anyone else have fun plans for the weekend?
Pretty images that just so happen to be my current to do: find a bicycle (which has been no small challenge, friends). Hopefully soon I'll have one to use as my own photo prop!
What are your plans this fine spring weekend?
